2007 Central Texas Kid's Expo This October 6, 2007 over 4870 people from the Bell county area came to see the latest and greatest products, innovations and services in family health care, education, dance & gymnastics, safety, entertainment, and fun at the Central Texas Kids Expo. Bell County families donated over 3000 pounds of canned goods to Food For Families. 132 Volunteers helped run the event. Over 18 Kids Characters including Cinderella, Clifford, Spiderman, Batman, Elmo & Shrek greeted kids through out the day. The Central Texas Kids EXPO addressed many of the most challenging safety & health issues families’ face today in a fun, interactive and exciting forum. 75 exhibitors had activities or prize drawings for kids. Scott & White Children’s Hospital sponsored the Health Zone. Smile At The World Orthodontics educated kids on dental health with their Smile School Program. Bell County Health gave free Immunizations from 12:00-4:00. The Temple Fire Department premiered their brand new giant Fire Truck slide for kids. Killeen Police department featured McGruff the crime dog, Swat vehicles, and had ID kits for kids. Lowes talked to kids about safety in the home and built wooden fire trucks with everyone. Walmart introduced Bell County to the 12 Toys of Christmas, gave information on toy recalls and gave over $1000 worth of toys out to kids all day. The main stage featured over 174 Bell County Kids performing all day. Everything from Classical Music, Gymnastics, Dance, Cheer, Skateboarders and Martial Arts. The Emmy Award winning Biscuit Brothers performed while kids danced with their moms & dads. Joe Scruggs closed out the day with song and puppets. This was a day focused on our greatest resource.
